The Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet is truly an amazing piece of technology from Lenovo. For just 99, we managed to get our hands on a brand new one and put it through our exigent tests. However, before we share our surprising results with you, our readers, we will tell you some more about why this tablet PC is so special and what it has to offer. We are inspired by Lenovo's own official website when we say that the Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet is their next generation tablet laptop. It features a very nice multi touch touch pad and more storage space than previous models. Also, the latest Intel processor technology allows for faster and more reliable computing. The new generations of batteries from Lenovo manage to keep the tablet laptop powered on for up to 8 hours and enhance performance on the go. This all sounds very appealing and it looks like this ultra portable laptop is a very good choice. Let's see what our tests have to say.

We started by taking a closer look at Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet's central processing unit (CPU), an Intel Core i5 520 UM processor working at a frequency of 1.06 GHz. Well, at this point, and for just under 00, this does not sound like the next generation of tablet laptops. However, it makes up for the lack in frequency with a 3 MB L3 cache and a good front side bus (in short, FSB) of 800 MHz. Although the CPU is not too powerful, it is agile enough for a laptop this size. Just don't expect too much from it.

Next, we took a look at the memory. The Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet comes with 2 GB of high speed DDR3 random access memory (in short, RAM). The size is very appealing and the 1067 MHz frequency at which the memory works is even better. We must agree that the memory should get a 10 out of 10 points for performance and agility. Next, we were impressed by the 12.1 inch WXGA display benefiting from both LED Backlight and Wide Viewing Angle technologies. Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet's hard disk drive is large enough (250 GB), but spins at just 5400 rotations per minute. Also, the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 wireless adaptor and Integrated Mobile Broadband are great additions! We consider this tablet laptop to deliver what it promises, although not in full. It is perfect for users who do not expect too much from their laptops.
